Why does your dental office need an oil-free compressor?
Compressed air in a dental office comes into direct contact with the patient’s oral cavity through the triple syringe, turbine, and micromotor. Any trace of oil in that air represents a contamination risk, an unpleasant taste, and potential damage to precision dental equipment.

Common questions about dental compressors
It is not recommended. Air from a lubricated compressor contains oil traces that can contaminate the patient’s oral cavity and damage turbines and micromotors. For direct dental use, use an oil-free compressor (Air·co Oil-Less) or Scroll Clase Cero (ISO 8573-1). The CBS lubricated scroll is an intermediate option if you add coalescing filtration.
It depends on the technology and capacity. The Air·co Oil-Less units (0.65–3.5 HP) are the most affordable option. The Scroll Clase Cero (2–10 HP) offer ISO compliance and the lowest noise level on the market. We quote in under 24 hours with a fixed price that includes installation and startup.
Rule of thumb: each dental unit consumes approx. 1.5–2 CFM. For 1–2 units, a 2–3 HP Air·co Oil-Less or 2 HP Clase Cero is sufficient. For 3–5 units, a 3–5 HP Clase Cero.
